Luthiero creates violins, violas, cellos and double basses entirely by hand, using carefully selected solid tonewoods — shaped, assembled and finished with respect for traditional instrument making.

Every Luthiero instrument begins as solid tonewood and is brought to life by hand. We work in the tradition of European violin making — selecting the wood, carving the plates, fitting the neck and scroll, and finishing each instrument with a warm varnish.

We build exclusively from solid tonewoods — typically a solid spruce top for its clarity and response, and solid maple for the back, ribs and neck for warmth and strength. We do not use plywood, laminated wood or mass-production methods.

The making process
Shaped, assembled and finished by hand
From wood selection to the final soundpost adjustment, each step is carried out by hand in our workshop. Plates are graduated by feel and measurement, the neck and scroll are cut and fitted, and every instrument is varnished, set up and evaluated for tone before it leaves us.
